About Me

Chi-Chi's Biography

Chidinma ‘Chi-Chi’ Osuagwu is a promising internist, beginning residency in 2024, with a profound commitment to Global, Liberatory & Anti-Colonial Medicine. She excelled in her undergraduate studies at Tufts University, graduating cum laude with a triple major in Africana Studies, Community Health, and Race, Colonialism, and Diaspora Studies.

Completing her medical education at Temple University, Chi-Chi emerged as a distinguished leader in the academic community, advocating and organizing for both her peers: underrepresented students in medicine and the North Philadelphia community to which she served.

Her research, education, and implementation efforts encompass community-based participatory research, integrating global health chronic care and anti-colonial approaches, domestic anti-racist health equity initiatives, reparative health justice, and addressing settler colonial determinants of health.

Dance

Afrobeats Dance Boston was founded in May 2017 by Chidinma “Chi-Chi” Osuagwu, a passionate Boston native hailing originally from Hyde Park, MA. With invaluable support from several local organizations, including Haley House, Spontaneous Celebrations, and the City School, Osuagwu successfully launched a kickoff weekend in June 2017 and subsequently hosted classes across Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park, and other vibrant communities. ABDB has risen to prominence through multiple avenues including live classes, workshops, performances, and events. The company has now shared its unique Afrobeats style with the Boston Celtics, and recently become grant recipients recognized by Boston’s city council. She is a co-owner and served as the Executive Director from 2017-2020, recently returning to the role in 2024. Chidinma also co-directs Afrobeats Dance Philly (est. 2020), a sister company dedicated to providing the same mission of accessibility and affordability for both children and adults in the Philadelphia region.
